Click on the map to go to Google maps, where the entrance to the fields has been marked with a pin. To get to our nature journalling spot, go through the gate and follow the path straight ahead, parallel to the train track. You will find us by the bridge over Carrant Brook.
Join us in the fields near Northway to explore and observe the natural world together.
This is a group for all ages, with no experience and minimal equipment required. Come along and discover the joys of nature journaling!
The first session will be:
Sunday 21st June 2026 from 2-4pm
Children are welcome to come along and give nature journaling a go. My experience is that once a child can talk about and listen to short explanations about nature, they are ready to start drawing about nature.
Parents and carers are advised to keep children in sight at all times, and retain full responsibility throughout. There is a shallow river, a train track (raised and fenced off), and the possibility of other hazards, including dogs. Safety reminders are given at the start of each session.
What to expect at the next session…
At this time of year, we can expect sunshine , but prepare for showers! Sunblock and long sleeves are recommended, although there is shade at the site. You may also need a light waterproof, and something waterproof to sit on. Don’t forget to bring water/a drink, and a snack.
