Sessions run fortnightly on Thursdays, 10:30-11:30, from my cosy home studio. With around four children attending per session, or up to six children during the summer when we also have access to outdoor space, each child will receive all the attention and encouragement they need to make great art.
Please bring your child in clothes that don’t matter. Aprons are provided, but children seem to prefer not to wear them, and mess will happen!
Parents are encouraged to stay, and the comfortable lounge area next to the studio has additional activities for siblings (and attendees that need a break from the studio!)

With a variety of art materials available, the balance between structure and freedom allows even the most hesitant of young artists to flourish. In the studio, the chaos of artistic expression is welcomed!

September to December 2026
This block we are going to explore yummy food! From ice cream to root veg, children will use paint, collage, and various materials to make art about the things we might eat.
Ice cream
Thursday 24th September 10:30-11:30
It’s the end of summer, but we still love ice cream! Using splashy paint, collage, and glitzy sprinkles, the children will create their favourite ice cream stack.
Veggies
Thursday 8th October 10:30-11:30
Veg is so much more interesting than you might think. The children will look carefully and draw veggies, then paint, cut out, and collage their creations.
Pumpkins and gourds
Thursday 22nd October 10:30-11:30
Yahoo Kusama is an artist that loves dotty patterns and bright colours: a perfect pairing with pumpkins and gourds, honest!
Pizza
Thursday 5th November 10:30-11:30
The wonder of pizza is that you can put just about anything on it! I’m challenging the children to choose something in every colour they can think of to decorate their collage pizza.
Cake
Thursday 19th November 10:30-11:30
Is there anyone who doesn’t enjoy some form of cake? The children will use silk clay to build their own yummy cake or cakes.
Citrus
Thursday 3rd December 10:30-11:30
Something about December always has me thinking of the juicy colours of citrus fruits. In this final session of the block, children will use oil pastel to draw citrus fruits, exploring analogous and complementary colours.
My studio is in Northway, just outside of Tewkesbury, near J9 of the M5. Numbers 41 and 71 buses pass at the end of the road, which is just a ten minute walk from Ashchurch-for-Tewkesbury railway station.

There is an intentional overlap in the ages for Art Clubs. This option is perfect for children who enjoy playing with art and would benefit from a place to try out materials and techniques with a little gentle instruction. Youngster’s Art Club explores creativity and inspiration, using children’s natural curiosity to find ways to explore more deeply.
